The songs on Origin explore Ogungbe’s personal journey of identification with his father’s family’s homestead – Orile Owu - a town in Osun State. Southwestern Nigeria. The music is an exhilarating expression of African Opera.
Juwon Ogungbe was inspired by the Odun Omo Olowu - a homecoming festival for indigenes which happens annually in Orile Owu.
‘Creating Origin has been a labour of love,’ said Juwon Ogungbe. ‘It gives me great pleasure to share this music with listeners. I dug deep into personal feelings to make this recording and I hope people will be touched by the songs.’
